To Err Is Human

Paul Tero, a programmer, classify his favorite programming mistakes in three broad groups:
  1. cock-ups / screw-ups
  2. errors
  3. oversights
To paraphrase, cock-up is when you accidently did something horribly wrong, error is a general technical mistake, while oversight is a more subtle and elusive form of error.

Even though he is talking specifically about his experience in programming, I believe that all these three groups of mistakes are not exclusive to programming. It applies to us all.

On my behalf, I have my fair share of all three from time to time, and sometimes even all three at the same time!

It helps to have someone who could point out your mistakes. Not to laugh at your expense, but to help you change to make it right.

Does it not?
